UK systems integration specialist Hima-Sella has appointed a new Project Manager, Sam Butcher, boosting its rail and automation team based at its Midlands office in Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire.

Reporting to Managing Director Ian Wright, in this new position, Sam Butcher will manage a contract recently awarded to Hima-Sella by London Underground to supply the new operational Communications Control System for its Central Line, a project critical to improving the Tube in time for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

A BSc Honours Computing Systems graduate of Nottingham Trent University, Butcher (37) joins Hima-Sella after nine years with Nottingham firm KeTech Systems where he was managing retail telecoms supply and maintenance contracts for Northern Rail and South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive. He will also work closely with colleagues in the firm’s headquarters in Stockport.

Ian Wright, Hima-Sella’s Managing Director comments, “We’re delighted to welcome Sam to Hima-Sella. His previous experience of systems integration in the rail industry will be of real value to the team currently working on the London Underground project and to our growth in the rail sector.”

Hima-Sella will supply a fully integrated solution to LU that controls the Central Line’s operational telecommunications including signal post and tunnel telephones, long line public address, closed circuit television and an interface with LU’s dedicated phone network.
