Stockholm Lokaltrafik AB have awarded Spanish rolling stock manufacturer CAF a contract to supply 15 LRV’s for their public transport system. The number of rolling stock required could be widened to up to 121 LRV’s which would make the contract worth €340m.
The LRV’s are low-floor units for optimised accessibility. Each model consists of 3 modules and 4 motor bogies, providing a high traction to brake capacity and speeds of up to 90km per hour.
Due to Sweden’s extreme weather, the LRV is adapted accordingly and is equipped with state of the art comfort for passengers and safety systems.
