National rail freight operator Direct Rail Services has been given a prestigious industry award for being the UK’s ‘Best Performing Rail Freight Operator.’
In addition, the company also received a second award in recognition as the most improved rail operator on performance over the whole year.
These awards which are based on validated industry statistics are ‘confirmation of our position as officially the leading rail freight operator in the UK,’ the company says.
The Golden Whistle Awards which are organised by the Institute of Railway Operators (IRO) to celebrate operational excellence in the industry and to recognise the fact that sound operating practises are essential if the railway is to run safety, punctually and successfully.
