Beijing-Shanghai high speed rail line in final phase of testing

Listen to this article

The Beijing-Shanghai high speed line is in its final phase of testing.

The line links China’s two most important cities on a 1,318km long line. It is scheduled to be put into commercial service on June 20, 2011.

China’s Ministry of Railways has tested high speed rolling stock on the line up to ‘665 times’ covering up to ’60 million km.’

The high speed trains will run at speeds between 155mph – 185mph. A non-stop service is available (which actually stops in the capital of Nanjing) along with a service that stops in 24 stations along the line.

Separate tests on the track, noise, vibrations, train control and infrastructure have been completed but this will be the first time the line is tested in its entirety.

Since the dismissal of Minister of Railways Liu Zhijun in February, high speed projects in China have faced much concern over the speed of the trains and mounting costs.

The service will take less than five hours for a ‘nonstop train’, which is nearly half the current train journey of 9hrs and 49m.

  1. You know, it is a major step but the Main International of Chinese High Speed Railway, which it was a major impact of the high speed line in between, the Beijing – Shanghai, the longest distances of the world as in Mention for the first time. In the past, nobody seeing out of reach of lighting touches, ever since began from major updated in the whole world of countryness. Which also regrentlessly the jouney times was 20hrs???, or 1, 2, or 3 days to get there??? Nobody knew ever seen in many years for Low + Normal Speed of National Rails for China the entire History and Centuries! But I was delightful stories of Historic Railways in many centuries as they speak. If the time was right on the Schedule servies after Chinese High Speed Railway Engineering Works have a final phase before preview timetable services and til follow into improve and normal capacity services, if their Chinese have done Exam Phases or Complete the Tests? We want to see the Chinese High Speed Railway in Beijing – Shanghai line is fastest but will it works? And how did they try to find out in many details such as Explanations, many Questions to politely if some can speak chinese language’s, and so on in cetra. But now, I will hope to ride it new someday depends in the future if I like, but wisely cost mean too expensive to reach a destination, to see events going on e.t.c, and way back home and everyone else. So this is what progress doing well the final phase has been reasy to count down. Good Luck Chinese High Speed Railway Engineering Works, keep up a good progress and I know you all can do it to it. Congratulation to them, wish for all the best. Cha Cha!!!
