First Hull Trains has launched a new menu on board its seven direct daily services between Hull and London.

The move to a ‘lighter, more nourishing menu, incorporating organic options comes following on from staff and customer feedback’.

With new starters, main courses and desserts introduced in First Class, as well as a new product range on the Standard Class buffet, managers from the award-winning train operator are confident the menus will receive the thumbs up from customers.

Darren Fennah, Head of Customer Service Delivery at the firm, said: “Feedback from both customers and staff demonstrated that we needed to review the menus to offer organic and healthy varieties on the menu.

“It’s safe to say that the new menus achieve that and passengers who are perhaps watching their waistlines in time for summer don’t have to compromise their diets, even when they are on the move between Hull and London.”

For the sweet-toothed folk on board, there is still plenty to choose from with dark chocolate brownies on the menu, as well as things like strawberry and oat flapjack.

Mr Fennah added: “By introducing the new menu, we are not only recognising that people want to be offered organic options more than ever before, but also doing our bit when it comes to preserving water, energy and biodiversity, all of which organic farming is renowned for having positive effects on.

“We are aiming to offer something for everyone with the new menus, so those looking for the more traditional choices can still opt for a bacon roll for breakfast or a chicken Korma later in the day, if the lighter options don’t take their fancy. We really hope customers will enjoy the new menus and look forward to receiving feedback.”
