London Midland increases station car park prices

New car park prices will come into effect at London Midland stations from Monday 23 May 2011.

Although most daily and season tickets will increase by around 6%, some prices will stay the same (e.g. Hemel Hempstead, Tring, Kidderminster) and others will actually fall (e.g. Watford Junction).

These new rates also incorporate the 2.5% increase in VAT that London Midland ‘have absorbed since January’.

London Midland say they have also introduced a range of discounts that could ‘actually reduce the cost of parking for many users’:

  • Buy your daily (peak/off-peak) parking online, and we’ll give you a 5% discount off the walk-up rate.
  • Buy a 10, 20 or 30 day ‘scratchcard’ and these will now work out to be 10% cheaper than the online daily rate.

London Midland say ‘this year’s prices reflect the inflation rate (Retail Price Index current around 5%), the increase in VAT from January 2011 and our continued investment in new and improved car parking facilities.’
