Heathrow Express runs to timetable during strikes

Heathrow Express has reported that during the 48 hours of industrial action by RMT members, it operated exactly to the advertised amended timetable.

Richard Robinson, Managing Director of Heathrow Express, said:

“We knew we could operate to a 30 minute frequency between 07:57 and 19:10, with the same journey time of 15 minutes between Paddington and Heathrow Central.

“So during this period of industrial action we still offered the fastest way to get to and from the airport. We were able to cover 77% of all flights in and out of Heathrow and our trains ran at the times when 80% of all airport customers needed to travel.”

On Friday 27 and Saturday 28 May, a total of 92 Heathrow Express services were operated; all without delay or cancellation.

Richard Robinson adds: “Our customers are at the centre of our business and we wanted to reduce the inconvenience which this action threatened to cause.

“By talking to customers on the trains, I was delighted to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback for our amended timetable and I wanted to thank everyone who travelled with us over the last 48 hours for their support.

“For anyone who was inconvenienced, I would ask them to please contact us at [email protected]

On the morning of Sunday 29 May, Heathrow Express services returned to their normal timetable.
