Birse Rail is pleased to announce that it has been awarded two important new framework contracts by Network Rail covering a significant area of the UK.

The contracts, known as the Building and Civils Delivery Partnership, cover the West Region (encompassing Network Rail’s Western and LNW Territories) and the South Region (Network Rail’s South Eastern and Southern Territory).

The three year contracts, which are extendable to up to five years, provide for the design and construction of a wide range of civil engineering and building works to Network Rail assets including bridges, tunnels, viaducts, earthworks and stations.

Additionally the frameworks will provide emergency call-off and on-call arrangements enabling Network Rail to respond quickly and efficiently to incidents such as earthwork failures that impact upon the efficient operations of the railway.

Alan McCarthy-Wyper, Balfour Beatty Rail Director and General Manager, said:

“We are delighted to be awarded the Building and Civils Delivery Partnership contracts for both the West and South Regions.

“Birse Rail has held numerous long-term frameworks with Network Rail since 1997 and the award of these latest contracts further enhances our position as one of the leading providers of specialist building and civil engineering services to the UK railway industry.

“We look forward to working in close partnership with Network Rail to deliver these civil engineering services”
