New generation of Link-up supports changes in UK rail industry

Link-up has not only recently seen organisational change, but is taking steps to broaden the focus of supplier information management in the UK rail industry.

The new generation of Link-up will not only support the changes currently seen in the UK rail industry but also help to improve transparency, efficiencies and collaboration.

Link-up is the UK rail industry supplier registration and qualification scheme.

With more than 6,000 users and 10,000 supplier searches every month on the system, Link-up has been providing high-quality and up-to-date information.

For over 10 years Link-up enables procurement, engineering, safety and quality professionals to make better procurement decisions and reduce risks in their supply chain.

Link-up also supports organisations to comply with European Procurement Legislation and UK Rail Standards.

In line with the broader discussions around the implications of the McNulty Report, the Achilles’ UK Rail Sector team, now headed by Annette Poehl, is working extensively with its customers, respective partners and trade bodies to design the new Link-up generation that is key to taking the scheme forward.

Comments Annette: “The industry is opening up to new ways of working together and sharing information between buyers and suppliers.

“I am delighted that the Achilles Link-up services will support the industry to reach its aim of greater alignment in supplier qualification and management.”

Before taking responsibility for the Rail and Transport sector Annette Poehl has been with Achilles as Group Strategy Manager.

Annette Poehl previously worked as Programme Director for a major IT company, delivering global solutions for market leading companies.

This experience will prove invaluable in leading the development of the next generations of the Link-up service.

After a valued contribution to Achilles over the last four years, Andy Harrison had decided to move on from the company.

Andy left to pursue his own business interests and will no doubt be seen contributing to the future developments of the rail industry in whatever capacity this takes.
