National Express East Anglia held a successful community day at Great Bentley station on Sunday 24 July.

Staff, their family’s and local residents gave up their time and worked together to undertake improvements at the station, planting shrubs and flowers donated by the train operator.

The initiative was the idea of National Express East Anglia Area Station Manager Mark Tye who commented:

“I really wanted to engage the local community, and get them interested in Great Bentley station.

“I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to help out on Sunday and I was delighted by how many people turned up on the day.

“The station looks a brighter, more welcoming place for all their efforts. We really appreciate the fact that both staff and the local community gave up their spare time to help out.”

Great Bentley station, Essex is situated on the picturesque ‘Sunshine Coast’ line which links Colchester with the popular seaside resorts of Clacton, Frinton and Walton-on-the-Naze.
