Alstom and Promelectronica to set up a signalling JV for Russia & CIS

Listen to this article

Alstom and Promelectronica have decided to develop a partnership to commercialise in the Russian and CIS market signalling equipment adapted to the standards 1520.

The current discussions, following the signature of a first memorandum of understanding (MOU) in December 2010, should allow the creation of a JV before the end of 2011.

Based in Moscow, this joint company would be 51% held by Alstom and 49% by Promelectronica.

The JV would distribute Alstom and Promelectronica’s existing range and would also jointly develop new products.

The purpose would be to cover all the needs in the field of rail signalling with both on-board and trackside equipment.

The products would be manufactured in the existing sites of the two partners.
