Terence Watson appointed Managing Director of Alstom Transport’s UK and Ireland business

As of 15th September, Terence Watson will be responsible for the region’s market and product strategy, its consolidated P&L and business development, sales, oversight of project execution and customer satisfaction.

He will be based at Alstom UK’s corporate office in London.

Terence Watson acquired extensive experience in the engineering and gas industries prior to joining Alstom in 1994 as International Commercial Director for rail traction systems based at the company’s Preston site in Lancashire.

Since then he has held many senior management positions both in the UK and since 1999 in the company’s Paris headquarters where he was responsible for developing Alstom’s international markets for both transport and power sectors, and was in charge of the European Region for the International Network.

Commenting on his new role, Terence Watson said:

“Alstom Transport is a top player and has a long history in the UK and Ireland, from the supply of tube stock, regional trains, the West Coast Pendolino fleet and Dublin trams to maintenance services and expertise that keep many of the UK and Irish fleets and rail systems running smoothly.

“I am delighted to return to the UK and Ireland business after so many years in Europe and look forward to building on that legacy with our dedicated workforce to shape our strategy and approach to the market.”

Terence Watson is a Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, graduated in 1982 and holds an MBA from Insead, the international postgraduate business school.
