Last week saw the unveiling of the new commemorative 2012 railway garden at Royston station.

The garden, which was funded by First Capital Connect, local business Johnson Matthey, Royston Town Council, and the Royston in Bloom committee, pays tribute to what will be a very important year for the town as it celebrates the Olympic Games, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and the 850th anniversary of the Royston Priory.

The garden was unveiled by the Royston 2012 committee chair, Lindsay Davidson, and Joan Kirby, the Vice Chair of North Herts District Council.

Richard Marchant, Royston’s Station Manager, said:

“The new garden looks great and everyone involved has worked extremely hard. I am already receiving a lot of positive feedback from customers.

“2012 is going to be a very exciting year for Royston and First Capital Connect looks forward to celebrating it with the local community.”
