East Midlands Trains’ On-train team collected a runner-up national charity award certificate from Sense presented by host, TV personality Arlene Philips, at a ceremony in London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre earlier this month.

The annual Sense Awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of deafblind people and those who campaign, volunteer and support them.

East Midlands Trains was shortlisted in the category of Transport Provider of the Year when they were nominated by a Sense member who described the “excellent” support he gets when he travels from Nottingham and Chesterfield stations to London St Pancras, even on the occasions when Special Assistance has not been booked.

The Transport award marks Sense’s campaign work to fully understand the importance of communications support, “Walk with me, talk with Me”.
