Toronto’s Air Rail Link preferred bidder named

Infrastructure Ontario, on behalf of Metrolinx, has announced AirLINX Transit Partners as the preferred bidder for the Air Rail Link extension project.

AirLINX Transit Partners was selected following a competitive request for proposals process, which began in March 2011, with companies from all over Canada and the world.

AirLINX Transit Partners is a consortium of some of Canada’s most well respected construction companies including:

  • Aecon Construction and Materials Ltd.
  • Dufferin Construction Company.

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx will begin negotiations with AirLINX Transit Partners to finalise contract details, including the project cost and completion dates.

Construction of the Air Rail Link extension is expected to begin in spring 2012.

The Air Rail Link is an airport rail link service in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

It will run between Canada’s two busiest transportation hubs: Union Station in downtown Toronto, and Toronto Pearson International Airport in the City of Mississauga.
