Southeastern announces December timetable changes

Southeastern has announced minor changes to its timetable, which will come into effect on Sunday 11 December 2010.

The minor changes are primarily to help ‘improve connection times and overall train performance’, Southeastern said.

Southeastern spokesman said:

“We are continually looking at ways in which we can improve the timetable taking into account passengers and stakeholders feedback.

“This year we have already introduced new high speed services to Maidstone, Deal and Sandwich for instance.”

The 11 December timetable changes include extra off-peak services between Bromley North and Grove Park as well as a trial of a number of 12 car trains from Tunbridge Wells to Hastings to help increase capacity and improve performance along that line.

Pocket timetables will be available at stations from the end of November and the Create Your Timetable online tool is available at the Southeastern website.

Also announced is the Christmas and New Year timetable arrangements:

  • Friday 24 December – Normal service with early finish
  • Sunday 25 December – No service
  • Monday 26 December – No service
  • Tuesday 27 December – Sunday timetable service
  • Wednesday 28 December – Saturday timetable service
  • Thursday 29 December – Saturday timetable service
  • Friday 30 December – Saturday timetable service
  • Saturday 31 December – Saturday timetable service
  • Sunday 1 January – Normal Sunday service
  • Monday 2 January – Sunday timetable service
  • Tuesday 3 January – Normal timetable.

In between Christmas and New Year, Network Rail will be undertaking engineering works as part of the East Kent Re-signalling Programme which will affect services in East Kent.

Leaflets will be available with bus times at stations at the beginning of December.
