Leeds fans get extra East Coast return service

East Coast will operate an additional north bound train service for Leeds football fans travelling back after their teams’ game against Arsenal in London early in this year.

Tickets for the additional service, which departs London King’s Cross at 23.00 on January 9th, 2012, are now on sale, allowing United fans to travel back from the game at the Emirates Stadium after the FA Cup third round fixture.

The extra train will depart from London King’s Cross on Monday 9th January, calling at Wakefield Westgate (00.59) to drop off passengers only before arriving into Leeds at 01.21.

East Coast Commercial and Customer Service Director, Peter Williams said:

“On top of the 23.30 service, the additional East Coast train is sure to be welcomed by Leeds fans travelling back to Yorkshire after the match against Arsenal.

“Tickets for the extra service are now available and fans will be able to take make bookings for this train service after tickets went on sale.

“We’re encouraging Leeds fans to book early as we’re expecting this service to be very popular.”

The additional service will operate as a dry train, meaning that no alcohol will be served on board and passengers will not be permitted to take any of their own alcohol on the train with them.
