RMT rejects ‘unacceptable’ Olympics Tube pay offer

The RMT has rejected the latest Olympics pay offer from London Underground.

The union said it would ‘step up the pressure for a fair deal for all staff across the grades’ because of the ‘additional workload and pressure’ they will be under during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The RMT said the money offered was not ‘an adequate reward’ for their members and won’t be paid out unless certain targets are met.

RMT General Secretary Bob Crow said:

“RMT is rejecting this latest Olympics and Paralympics pay offer from LUL and we will be meeting with the company again to press our case for a flat rate, across the board payment which recognises the contribution of all staff throughout the high pressure extended Olympics and Paralympics period and which is free from a whole barrage of strings and caveats.”

  1. £38k a year basic with shift pattern earning and extra weekend work taking tube drivers pay to over £50k per year. Greedy, Greedy, Greedy, determined to hold us all to ransom again.
