Renfe, the largest rail operator in Spain, has partnered with SilverRail Technologies to make tickets on their entire network available to online travel agents (OTAs), travel management companies and traditional travel agents around the world.

SilverRail will make Spanish rail connections available on its global multi-country ticketing platform SilverCore later this year.

This will include tickets for AVE, Renfe’s growing high speed rail network, which includes some of the most popular European routes such as Madrid-Barcelona, Madrid-Sevilla, Madrid–Málaga, Madrid-Toledo and the recently introduced Madrid-Valencia.

“We’ve chosen to work with SilverRail Technologies to attract more international passengers to our growing high speed network,” commented Javier Casado, marketing and sales director at Renfe.

“With the expansion of high speed rail in Spain, we expect more and more people to choose rail over air. AVE’s new connection Madrid–Valencia has been the latest great example of that trend. The AVE’s market share on this line when compared to flights is over 80%,” Casado added.

“The addition of Renfe’s tickets moves us closer to our vision of one global rail ticketing platform that makes buying rail as easy as purchasing flights,” said Aaron Gowell, CEO and co-founder of SilverRail Technologies.

SilverRail has built a platform that integrates all operators and countries into one system that can be easily accessed by anyone who wishes to sell rail, offer rail vs. air comparison or include train tickets in holiday packages.

Currently, the SilverCore platform integrates rail tickets from the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, the US, Canada and Luxemburg.
