The Mumbai Monorail successfully completed its first technical test run recently between Wadala and Bhakti Park, covering 2.2 km.
Scomi Engineering and its consortium partner Larsen & Toubro are providing 15 sets of 4 car trains for the project.
The Mumbai Monorail project is a 19.5-kilometer route between Jacob Circle and Chembur with one central depot and about 18 user-friendly and highly secured stations.
Commercial services on Phase 1 are thought to be starting in November this year.
Each monorail, which comprises of 4 coaches, will have a capacity to accommodate about 600 passengers, Scomi said.
