A cat which shot to fame at Angel station on the London Underground has had his own Oyster card issued and a book published about him.
James Bowen, working as a busker, found an injured, ginger street cat curled up in the hallway of his sheltered accommodation. Mr Bowen was living hand to mouth on the streets of London and did not feel he had the resources to take on a cat.
However the cat was still there the next day and not looking at all well. James took in the intelligent tom cat, whom he named Bob, and slowly nursed him back to health. He then sent the cat on his way.
However Bob wouldn’t leave. The two became inseparable and their comic and occasionally dangerous adventures transformed both their lives, slowly healing the scars of each other’s troubled pasts.
