Southeastern rail services severely disrupted

Southeastern rail services have been severely disrupted this morning due to two separate ‘line blockages’.

The train operator said a fallen tree on the line means train services cannot currently run between Ashford International and Maidstone East until the line is cleared.

Replacement buses have been called in to operate between these stations in both directions.

Passengers will be accepted on the High Speed services between St Pancras International – Maidstone West. London Underground services are also accepting passengers on any ‘reasonable route’.

Due to a freight train derailment near Robertsbridge, services are suspended between Robertsbridge and Hastings, with replacement buses running.

Southeastern said a crane has been called in to re-rail the locomotive and Network Rail is onsite working to clear the line and assess any damage. It is expected that the line is likely to remain closed for the ‘most of the day’.

Passengers have been advised that a special service from Robertsbridge to London Charing Cross/Cannon Street and back to Robertsbridge will operate departing:

  • XX:10 and XX:40 past each hour Robertsbridge to London and will call at all stations from Robertsbridge to Tonbridge then run fast to London Bridge.
  • XX:15 and XX: 45 past each hour London to Robertsbridge will run fast to Tonbridge then call at all stations to Robertsbridge.
