Victoria station will be holding fundraising events and celebrations organised by Network Rail for its charity partner Action for Children over the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend.

Passengers will be able to have their picture taken with a digital version of the Royal family and will also be able to text the Queen congratulating her on her 60 year reign.

The station will be decked in flags and music will be provided by local bands including The Charity Singers, Swing-Time Sweethearts and The Jive Aces which will be performing songs over the course of the weekend.

All money raised over the weekend will be donated to Action for Children, the charity recently announced as Network Rail’s chosen charity.

David Chewter, station manager at Victoria, said:

“The Jubilee weekend is a once in a lifetime event. We wanted to make Victoria station a part of the celebrations and support Action for Children at the same time.

“Passengers will be able to enter into the spirit of the celebrations as they get off their trains and help to raise money for a very worthwhile cause.”

Texts to the Queen sent from Victoria station will be collated into a special Queen’s Jubilee Weekend book and sent to Buckingham Palace in commemoration of the celebrations.
