An Edinburgh band has chosen the Forth Rail Bridge as the location of its latest video, becoming the first musicians to perform on the iconic Victorian structure.

Bwandi Junction played three songs on a specially-built platform, 300 feet up the 120-year-old bridge.

In the video, which was actually filmed on the Forth Road Bridge, the band paint the rail bridge blue.

Network Rail has just completed a 10-year project to repaint the steel structure in a durable epoxy paint.

The Forth Bridge will now not need another coat for 20 years.

Dan Muir, lead guitarist, said: “It was unbelievable playing up at the top of the Forth Bridge. I didn’t think it was ever going to happen. I just thought it would be another idea that started and ended in the pub.

“The size of the bridge is vast and playing up there was a bit uneasy to begin with but it was just amazing.”

Fans can see a video of the Edinburgh-based four piece performing in their hi-vis jackets and hard hats online.

The band’s first single from their new album, Two Bridges, was released on June 25.
