British Prime Minister David Cameron rides the automated Dubai metro as part of a trade visit to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Cameron is in the Gulf region to promote the Typhoon jet to the countries’ leaders in order to boost the British defence industry.

Number 10 tweeted an image of the Prime Minister visiting the Dubai metro earlier today. Serco currently operate and maintain the Dubai Metro Red and Green Line on behalf of the Road Transport Authority (RTA).

“British engineering helped build it with contracts worth over £600 million,” Number 10 said.

The Prime Minister visits the United Arab Emirates on Monday before travelling on to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.
