Alstom has won an infrastructure contract worth 40 million euros for the second phase of the new metro Line 4-Yellow in Sao Paulo.
The second phase is expected to be completed in the first half of 2015.
About 13 kilometres long, the metro line four includes 11 stations and will carry about one million passengers daily.
Alstom is in charge of over 70 per cent of the infrastructure contract, which includes the supply of power, telecommunications, a local control system and auxiliary systems.
Marco Contin, managing director of Alstom Transport in Brazil, said: “Following a successful partnership during the first phase of the project to supply systems and equipment, Alstom is pleased to be awarded phase two of the contract by Sao Paulo Metro.
“This enduring partnership aims to provide Sao Paulo citizens with the best transport solutions.”
