Belarusian Railways will be celebrating its 150th anniversary later this month.

To mark the milestone, the operator organised an exhibition at the Belarusian National History and Culture Museum in Minsk as well as holding a gala evening at the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Theatre of Belarus.

Railways in Belarus date back to December 27, 1862, when the first line opened to traffic in Grodno.

The Belarusian Railway was established in 1992, following the breakdown of the Soviet Union.

Head of Belarusian Railways Vladimir Morozov said: “We are confident about the future, and offer large-scale investment projects, its traffic volumes and improve infrastructure.”
