The first of a new fleet of Stadler KISS EMUs has begun service on Germany’s Berlin-Brandenburg rail system.

The double-deck train, which was delivered in December 2012, is the first of 16 four-car units ordered by rail operator ODEG (Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn).

In 2011, Stadler Reinickendorf completed the first vehicle’s bodyshell. Stadler Pankow then installed the seats, floor, toilets and electrical components.
