One of Britain’s high-speed Javelin trains will be named after 22-time Paralympic medallist Dame Sarah Storey this week.

Eleven Javelin trains have already been named after some of Britain’s greatest sporting champions – and this year another 12 Olympians and Paralympians will have the honour bestowed on them.

The Javelin service was praised for its performance throughout the London 2012 Games, transporting more than 2.4 million spectators to and from the Olympic Park.

Dame Storey took home four gold medals for cycling at the London Games – which takes her tally for both swimming and cycling to 22 medals.

She was recently appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2013 New Year Honours list.
