Strukton Rolling Stock is to deliver new auxiliary converters for Toulouse Metro’s VAL206 fleet.

Twenty-eight driverless VAL206 vehicles will get a 750V DC/ 72V DC battery charger and a 750V DC/400V AC inverter as part of a major refurbishment project.

Deliveries will commence in Q3 of 2013.

In 2011, Strukton provided the operator Tisséo with a new traction system (DC-Chopper) for the VAL206.

Strukton Rolling Stock’s director Gert Kwikkers said: “We are pleased that we can continue our pleasant cooperation with Tisséo and value the trust placed in us.”

Strukton Rolling Stock already applies these modern and lightweight modules in projects for the metro in Amsterdam and a monorail system in Kuala Lumpur.
