New Eurostar website to go live

Eurostar’s new-look website will “transform and speed up” ticket booking when it is launched tomorrow, the operator has said.

The redesign will significantly reduce the number of steps required to buy a ticket, cutting the time it takes to book a journey from London to Paris in half.

Travellers will be able to book a journey from over 300 stations in the UK to hundreds of Eurostar's new websitedestinations across France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany.

The site will also feature more destination content for popular cities such as Amsterdam, Cologne and Marseille, alongside practical information and maps.

Nick Mercer, commercial director for Eurostar, said: “The transformation of eurostar.com is key to the future of our business.

“We now live in a fast moving digital world where billions of online transactions are made worldwide every minute, so it’s essential that our digital offering meets changing customer needs.

“The new eurostar.com marks the start of our investment into digital and over the coming months customers will see a raft of new features to the site. We are committed to offering excellence at every step of the journey from booking to on-board, and we will continue to invest in our service to ensure it offers customers the best possible travel experience.”

The transformation of eurostar.com is part of a wider investment into Eurostar’s business, including a £700 million fleet investment programme including the refurbishment of the existing Eurostar sets and the purchase of 10 new trains, which is on schedule to be completed by 2015.

  1. This article is outrageous! On the old Eurostar website I used to be able to book a ticket in less than two minutes! It was clear, simple, easy to use, user friendly, in a word, excellent. The new website is chaotic, illogical, certain sections are missing (the customer name is displayed nowhere when signed into My account, the eVoucher section has disappeared altogether…) I have been trying to sign into my account and book a ticket for 35 minutes now and it has been a total nightmare! Still haven’t managed to book it. I am upset, frustrated and totally outraged by the lack of consideration for their customers.
