Public transport operator RATP Dev has appointed former DOR chief executive Elaine Holt to put together its bid to run London’s Crossrail trains.

Holt, who led National Express through its pre-qualification and bid for the Great Western rail franchise, will oversee the French company’s pre-qualification for the Crossrail operator concession.

Elaine has previously held senior roles at First Group and East Coast, and became chief executive of Directly Operated Railways (DOR) in 2009.

François-Xavier Perin, chief executive RATP Dev, said: “Elaine is a respected professional in the UK transport sector with an outstanding track record in rail.

“Her background, skills and experience will be vital to RATP Dev and its ambitions for the UK and for RATP Dev as a whole.”
