A special military-themed livery has been unveiled on one of Nottingham trams to mark Armed Forces Day later this year.

The tram has been brought into service ahead of the national celebrations this summer on June 29.

The prestigious event, now in its fifth year, will welcome troops, veterans their families and visitors to the city to say thank you to Britain’s service men and women.

On behalf of Nottingham Express Transit (NET), Tramlink Nottingham’s head of service delivery Lea Harrison said: “The city is pulling together a tremendous programme to mark the day and we are delighted to be playing our part in paying our own tribute to our service men and women.”

Lea, a former serviceman, added:  “The tram will be in service right up to the day itself and so will be a high profile reminder to people in and around Nottingham of the upcoming celebrations.”
