The Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) has established a partnership with Thales to establish a new signalling training centre in the country.

The Rail Centre of Excellence (RCOE) will provide training programmes in signalling and communications for main line and metro railways to meet the skills gap facing Malaysia’s rail industry.

Mohd Yusoff Sulaiman, president and chief executive of MIGHT, said: “Thales, as a member of MIGHT, has expressed genuine interest in the long-term development of Malaysia’s rail industry and recognises that this begins by developing and fostering local talent and transferring the necessary expertise.
