Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) has awarded contracts worth S$1.04 billion for the construction of three new Thomson Line stations and the Mandai maintenance depot.
The contracts cover the construction of the Woodlands, Lentor and Mayflower stations, as well as the associated tunnelling works.
GS Engineering & Construction Corp will build the 30-kilometre line’s Woodlands station and connecting cut-and-cover tunnels in a deal worth S$292 million.
The S$247 million Lentor station contract has been awarded to China Railway No. 5 Engineering Group Co., Ltd and Gammon Construction Limited won the competition to design and build Mayflower station – a deal worth S$174 million.
Jurong Primewide Pte Ltd, which is currently building a depot for the Tuas West Extension, has also been awarded a S$329 million contract to construct the Thomson Line’s Mandai Depot.
Work is due to start on each of the projects at the start of 2014, with Woodlands and Mandi depot set to be completed in 2019 and the remaining stations in 2020.
In total, 22 stations underground stations are being built for the new line.
