A Virgin Trains Super Voyager has crashed at Chester Station after overrunning the platform.
The 10.10 service from London Euston collided with the buffers, smashing a glass wall, shortly after midday.
British Transport Police (BTP) has said a male passenger had been taken to hospital after suffering back injuries during the “low-speed” incident.
One passenger Tweeted a photo of the crash after leaving the train.
Virgin Trains said in a statement: “The incident took place at approximately 12:10 and the train involved was the 10:10 Virgin Trains’ service from London Euston to Chester. There was a very low speed impact between the train and the buffer stop on platform 1. No other train was involved.
“The emergency services attended, and one person was taken to hospital.
“Virgin Trains will provide updates as we receive further information.”
An investigation is now expected to get underway to establish the cause of the collision.
Well that’s what happened to a local train crashed into another train at Norwich Train Station which 8 people where injured and taken to hospital but lucky no deaths occurred. Plus it was travelling at 10mph.
