Pesa is to build 20 of its new intercity Dart trains for Polish operator PKP Intercity in an order worth 1.3 billion zł (€313 million).
Pesa Bydgoszcz has been chosen over Stadler and Newag to supply the electrical-multiple units (EMUs) and provide maintenance services for the new fleet.
The new trains, which will be partly financed by EU funding, will operate on three routes: Jelenia Gora – Wroclaw – Lodz – Warsaw – Bialystok, Lublin – Bialystok and Lublin – Warsaw – Koluszki – Czestochowa – Katowice – Bielsko Biala.
All 20 EMUs are expected to be delivered by October 2015.
