Budapest places order for new CAF trams

CAF has agreed an order for up to 124 new low-floor trams for the city of Budapest.

With funding from the European Union, the Spanish manufacturer will build 37 Urbos trams for operator BKK, with an option for an additional 87 vehicles.

Two vehicle lengths will be produced for the €90 million order, a five-car 34-metre model and a nine-car 56-metre model.
