ADIF has awarded CAF a €98.6 million contract to deliver signalling  services along a stretch of the Mediterranean Corridor between Vandellós and Tarragona.

The order includes the installation and maintenance of new signalling boxes, ERTMS Level 2, telecommunications systems, traffic control and auxiliary safety and protection systems.

“For CAF Signalling, as project leader, this contract marks an important milestone and qualitative step towards consolidating its strategy as it involves implementing a new ERTMS system with in-house technology, AURIGA ERTMS,” CAF said in a statement.

The 65-kilometre route includes a connection to the high-speed Madrid-Barcelona-French border line.
