Final Thomson Line construction contracts let

The final three construction contracts have been awarded for Singapore’s Thomson line MRT route.

Civils contracts for Orchard, Marina South and Gardens by the Bay stations and tunnels worth a combined S$1.32 billion have been let by Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA). With all 25 of the main civils contracts now awarded, the project can move towards its opening in 2021.

Altogether, the 25 civils contracts are valued at approximately S$7.77 billion.

Once complete, the 30-kilometre underground line will cover a network of 22 stations and connect with all other MRT lines.

Orchard station – Penta-Ocean Construction Co Ltd – Bachy Soletanche Singapore Pte Ltd Joint Venture (S$498 million)

Marina South – Sinohydro Corporation Ltd. (Singapore Branch) – Sembcorp Design and Construction Pte Ltd Joint Venture (S$488 million)

Gardens by the Bay – Nishimatsu Construction Co., Ltd – Bachy Soletanche Singapore Pte Ltd Joint Venture  (S$331 million).
