Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) services have begun operating to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) for the first time.

On August 18, the last section of the system’s new Orange Line opened between Belt Line Station and DFW Airport’s Terminal A station.

The Orange Line has been commissioned in three phases. In 2012, the Bachman station – Irvinng Convention Center and the Irving Convention Center – Belt Line sections opened.

Speaking at an official opening of the line, Acting Federal Transit Administrator Therese McMillan said: “Connecting DFW Airport by light rail makes Dallas a more competitive, more attractive destination for business and travelers.

“It’s part of a sustained partnership over decades that’s bringing billions in investment, more jobs, and a better quality of life to North Texas.”
