Clearance tests have begun on the Expo Light Rail Line extension in Los Angeles.
A test train has initially begun testing on the eastern section of the 10.6-kilometre extension, which will take the Expo Light Rail Line beyond Culver City to Santa Monica.
Clearance testing, testing of the catenary system, the crossings and the signalling systems will all be carried out over the next few months.
The Expo Light Rail Line extension will add seven new stations and is estimated to cost around $1.5 billion.
