Newag has released renderings of the 39WE electric multiple unit (EMU) it has developed for Warsaw Commuter Rail (WKD).

The new six-car commuter train has been “inspired by the city’s modern architecture” says Newag.

Expected to enter service on the Warsaw Commuter Railway from 2016, the 39WE has a capacity of 505, including 164 seats, and a top speed of 80 km/h.

Passenger information will be displayed on external LED displays and internal LCD monitors.

In 2014, WKD and Newag signed a purchase agreement for six new EMUs.
