Studies to consider high-speed railway linking Cairo and Luxor

Feasibility studies are to be conducted into a 600-kilometre high-speed railway between Cairo and Luxor.

Spanish transport engineering consultancy Ineco is to complete the studies.

The announcement was made by Ineco president Jesús Silva, who visited Egypt to meet with Minister of Transport Hany Dahy.

  1. The line should originate in Alexandria to serve the maximum number of people and connect the two largest cities.
