Russian Railways (RZD) and Vossloh have signed an agreement which could involve localising production of high-speed rail components and maintenance equipment.

The Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC), which was signed during the Strategic Partnership 1520 conference, will see Vossloh look to develop Russian gauge standards for rail fastenings and components for high-speed rail.

Vossloh will also develop its milling and grinding services, including its high-speed rail grinder, for the Russian network.

In a statement, Vossloh said it would consider establishing a production base in Russia.
