Consultants appointed to Sweden’s high-speed Ostlänken rail project

Systra and COWI have been appointed to as technical consultant’s to Sweden’s Ostlänken project – a proposed 150-kilometre, double-track, high-speed railway between Järna and Linköping.

Specifically, Systra and COWI will support the project’s third package, which includes the development of a 65-kilometre railway – and its associated systems – between Sillekrog and Stavsjö, plus a link to Nyköping and a new station at Skavsta Airport.

This is the largest of the project’s four construction packages.

Ostlänken will form part of a nationwide high-speed rail system connecting Stockholm with Gothenburg and Malmö/Copenhagen.
