Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has placed an order for 162 more Movia metro cars from Bombardier.
The 15 billion Indian Rupee (€204 million) order will take Delhi Metro’s fleet of Movia vehicles to 776.
Deliveries will begin in Q3 2016 and will be completed by early 2018.
The trains will be manufactured locally in Vadodara.
In a six-car configuration the Movia trains can carry 1,740 passengers; This increases to 2,400 in the extended eight-car vehicles.
