Sweden’s state rail operator, SJ, has agreed new deals with Mantena and Euromaint to maintain its fleet of intercity trains.

The extension takes the current contract beyond March 1, 2016.

Since 2008, SJ says it has made an effort to step up its maintenance activities, something that has seen it reduce the number delays caused by failures by 75 per cent.

The agreement covers SJ’s high-speed  X2000, SJ 3000 fleets.

Works will continue to be split between Stockholm and Gothenburg.
