Siemens has been awarded the maintenance contract for the train sets it is supplying to All Aboard Florida.

The 30-year agreement will be delivered from a maintenance and service depot south of Orlando International Airport and a new site in West Palm Beach.

Siemens is initially supplying five trains, consisting of two diesel-electric locomotives and four cars, for the Miami-West Palm Beach section of the 235-mile route.

The new trains will be manufactured at Siemens’ solar-powered factory in Sacramento, California.

The contract, which comes into force in 2017, includes inspections, corrective and preventative maintenance, parts and labour.
