Jiribam-Tupul railway tunnel contract awarded

HCC and Coastal Projects have been awarded a contract to construct a 9.5-kilometre rail tunnel along a new railway between Tupul and Imphal, India.

Awarded by Northeast Frontier Railway, it is the fourth contract to be awarded to HCC for the planned 111-kilometre, broad gauge line.

HCC is already constructing a 3.25-kilometre tunnel between Dholakal and Kaimai Road stations, a 3.3-kilometre tunnel between Kambiron Road and Thingou stations and a 4.9-kilometre tunnel between Kaimai Road and Kambiron Road stations.
